Easter Triduum Sign-Up

The Easter Triduum Sign-Up sheets are on the tables in the church foyer. We need readers, ministers, etc. for all weekends in March. 

We need 3 Passion Readers each for the Vigil and Palm Sunday -- Saturday, 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. Masses

The Eucharistic Ministers have been assigned for Palm Sunday Weekend. 

We need 3 readers for the 5:30 p.m. service on Holy Thursday plus 5 eucharistic ministers

We need 2 readers for the Old and New Testament on Good Friday at 5:30 p.m....and

We need 3 readers for the Passion on Good Friday plus 2 eucharistic ministers

Holy Saturday the readers will be called - the vigil begins at 8:00 p.m.

Easter Sunday the readers will have been assigned 

So, please sign up to read. The books for these events will be handed out on the next 3 weekends, so readers can “study up” on the text beforehand.

Marriage Enrichment Evening

St. Ambrose Church, Latham. will host a marriage enrichment evening on Thursday, March 18, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. It is co-sponsored by the Diocesan Consultation Center, the Office of Ministry Formation, and the Office of Evangelization, Catechesis and Family Life.

An Exhibition of Carol Coogan's Art

An exhibition of Carol Coogan's art and illustrations, both old and new pieces, will be on exhibition in the Fellowship Hall of the Zion Lutheran Church, located at 153 Nott Terrace, Schenectady. The opening will be on Saturday, March 6, from 6:00  to 8:00 p.m., with a reception scheduled for Sunday, March 7, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Some of Carol's recent art explores themes related to the loss of her sister, father, mother and husband within a span of 4 years. Selections on display will also include book and nature illustrations, paintings, mixed media, digital prints, and engraved Crane & Co. card designs. After the opening and reception, art will be available for viewing by appointment, at the Zion Lutheran Church until April 25.

Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program Fundraiser

 

Saturday, March 20, 6:30 p.m., Catholic Central High School, Troy. Join adults and youth from throughout the diocese as we raise funds for the Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program.  Adults coached by Bishop Hubbard will take on youth from throughout the diocese. We will have games/activities for all during breaks in the action and halftime. Concessions will be available. $5 per person, $20 per family (4 or more) To sign players up contact Brian Evers spxyouth@hotmail.com

Guest Speaker at Mercy Center - Date to Be Announced

Fatima, a woman from Afghanistan who is working for peace through the education of women, will be speaking at the Mercy Center, 310 So. Manning Blvd, Albany. The presentation starts at 7 p.m. and a free will offering requested. It is sponsored by Women Against War.

Sending Easter Greetings to Our "Homebound"

Gerogeann Payne has set up a table in the church foyer, with the names of 54 homeboun parishioners. PLease select a a name of one of these parishioners and send them an Easter card, so they know we haven't forgotten them! For some of these people this may be the only mail they will get during the Lenten season.

"Celebrating the Presence of Christ" - Albany City Lenten Retreat

Evenings include prayer and conversation. Refreshments will be served.

"Celebrating the Word" on Monday, March 8, 7:00 pm, at Blessed Sacarament Church, presented by Dorothy Sokol, Parish Life Director, St. James.

"Celebrating Eucharist" on Monday, March 15, 7:00 pm, at St. Vincent DePaul Church, presented by Rev. Pat Butler, Pastor, St. Edward the Confessor Church.

"Celebrating Word and Eucharist": To Pray or Play" on Monday, March 22, 7:00 pm, at St. James Church, presented by Rev. Richard Vosko, Sacred Space Planner, Sunday Presider at St. Vincent's.

"Stations of the Cross Through the Eyes of Mary"

The Women's Commission of the Albany Diocese will present "Stations of the Cross throught the Eyes of Mary," on Friday, March  5, at 7:00 pm, St. Joseph's Churcj, Troy. This is a unique way to experience the "Stations." All are welcome. Please see the flyer on the table in the church foyer.
